PTSD Resources for Veterans
August 08, 2024

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a complex mental health issue that can affect anyone, but it is especially prominent among military personnel. Approximately 7% of veterans experience PTSD at some point in their lives and many feel alone and powerless. They can also feel distant from loved ones and experience negative emotions that do not fade over time.
PTSD can be triggered by a wide range of events like military combat, natural disasters, military sexual trauma, etc. These events take a toll on the veterans’ mental health, leading to symptoms such as flashbacks, insomnia, reckless behavior, and more.
Although treatments such as cognitive processing therapy exist, it is important to have access to multiple avenues of support. In the article below, we have gathered a list of national and local resources for veterans struggling with PTSD. Many of these programs are free, and we encourage all who may need it to learn more!
